The Best Email Hosting for Multiple Domains (2026)

For email on many domains, the real choice is how you pay: per person or per domain. Google Workspace and Microsoft 365 charge for every person ($7 a user a month). LotsMail charges one price per domain, from $5 a month, with unlimited mailboxes and teammates. Migadu and Purelymail charge one flat price per account and cost less still.

I opened every provider's own pricing page and help docs on 19 October 2026 (LotsMail checked on 26 October 2026) and judged each one on what matters when you look after several domains, usually your clients': how the bill grows as you add domains and people, how many domains one account takes, shared inboxes and who can open which mailbox, and whether ChatGPT or Claude can work in the inbox. Prices are US dollars before tax. Links to every source are at the end.

What it costs an agency with 10 client domains

Say you look after 10 client domains with 2 people on each, 20 people in all. Here is the monthly bill on each per-person suite's entry plan that covers it, against LotsMail (all on yearly billing where the provider offers it, checked 19 October 2026; LotsMail checked 26 October 2026):

Provider and planHow it adds upPer month
LotsMail Pro5 domains in the plan, 5 extra at your plan's rate$40

LotsMail Business20 domains included$60

Microsoft 365 Business Basic20 users × $7.00$140
Proton Workspace Standard (Mail Essentials allows only 3 domains)20 users × $12.99$259.80

Now hire a third person for one client, or add a shared support@ inbox for each client. On a per-person plan, each new person is another seat. On LotsMail, both cost nothing extra: the bill only changes when you add a domain.

To be straight about price: if cost is all you're optimizing, Purelymail ($10 a year), Migadu (from $19 a year) and Zoho Mail Lite ($1 a user a month) all come in under LotsMail for this example. Their sections below say what you get for that.

1. LotsMail: one price per domain, your whole team and every shared inbox included

LotsMail is business email for your whole team, priced per domain, not per person. I built it for exactly this case: an agency or consultant who sets up email on client domains and doesn't want the bill to grow every time someone joins a client team.

  • Price per domain. Starter is $5 a month or $50 a year for 1 domain, Pro is $20 or $200 for 5 domains, and Business is $60 or $600 for 20 domains, with white-label on every domain. On every plan each domain gets unlimited mailboxes and people, 10 GB of shared storage and 1,000 outbound deliveries a month; add-ons for more are on the pricing page. Extra domains cost your plan's rate. Without a plan, pay as you go is $6 per domain a month from LotsTech Credits, charged daily, with the same 10 GB and 1,000 deliveries as every domain. Yearly billing is two months free. Each domain has its own storage and sending allowance, so one busy client doesn't eat into another's.
  • Unlimited mailboxes, addresses and teammates on every plan. hello@, support@, projects@ and a mailbox for every person on the client's team, at the same price.
  • Shared inboxes with access per mailbox. Give support@ to the people who answer it, and nobody passes a password around. Private mailboxes stay private: even the workspace owner gets no automatic access to someone's private mailbox.
  • Keep your DNS and website where they are. Add the records LotsMail shows you, then point mail to it when you're ready. SPF, DKIM and DMARC are checked for you, each send shows its delivery status and bounces are reported. A new domain starts with a small daily sending allowance that grows with good delivery.
  • A full inbox on every device. Threads, search, drafts, sent, archive and attachments in the browser on phone, tablet and desktop.
  • A team you can manage. Invite people by email, give them roles, remove them, and archive a workspace (with restore) when a client leaves.
  • If a payment lapses, sending stops at once, incoming mail keeps arriving for 14 days and then pauses, and your mail is never deleted.

Coming soon: desktop and phone mail apps (Outlook, Apple Mail, Thunderbird over IMAP and SMTP). Importing old mail is planned, with no date, and LotsMail has no calendar. If a client must keep Outlook today, or needs years of old mail moved across first, pick a provider below for that client. LotsMail is also for normal business email only: no newsletters, marketing or cold email.

Connect ChatGPT or Claude to the client inboxes

LotsMail works with the AI agent you already use. Connect ChatGPT, Claude, Claude Code, Codex, Cursor or any MCP client to https://api.lotsmail.to/mcp and sign in with your Lots account; there's no key to paste. Agents without MCP use the REST API. LotsMail has no built-in AI and no model costs: your own assistant does the reading and writing.

You choose, for each mailbox, whether the assistant may read, draft or send. Sending by agents is off until you turn it on, so with read or draft access every reply waits in Drafts for you to approve. Nothing sends without you.

Once it's connected, try this:

In LotsMail, go through the support@ mailbox for each of my client domains. List the unread threads that need a reply today, grouped by client, and write a reply draft for each one. Don't send anything.

The assistant uses list_mailboxes, list_threads, get_thread and create_draft. Domains, DNS, mailboxes, team access and billing stay in the dashboard, which does the whole job on its own too. Setup steps for each assistant are on the connect page.

Start free: new accounts get 5,000 free credits, valid 90 days, no card. Start with LotsMail.

Choose LotsMail if you put several people and shared inboxes on each client domain, want access set per mailbox, and want a bill that grows with domains, not headcount.

2. Migadu: flat pricing for agencies that want mail apps

Migadu prices per account, not per mailbox or per domain, and its FAQ says many of its users are agencies hosting their clients' domains under one roof. Its home page says there are no limits on the number of addresses or domains your account can have.

  • Plans: Micro $19 a year (5 GB, 20 outgoing messages a day, yearly only), Mini $9 a month or $90 a year (30 GB, 100 a day), Standard $29 or $290 (100 GB, 500 a day), Maxi $99 or $990 (500 GB, 2,000 a day, 24x7 priority support).
  • Limits are per account, shared by every domain and mailbox on it.
  • Full support for SMTP, IMAP and POP3, plus webmail. Multiple admins, and an admin can be limited to selected domains (Micro has no multi-admin access).

Choose Migadu if you want the lowest flat price with mail apps today and your clients' combined sending fits the account's daily limit.

3. Purelymail: the lowest flat price, for technical teams

Purelymail costs $10 a year. Its pricing page says there are no hard limits on users, custom domains, storage or anything else; heavy use can move you to usage-based "advanced pricing". You get IMAP, POP3 and SMTP, webmail, and sieve filters and routing rules. Purelymail itself says its interface isn't always the most intuitive.

Choose Purelymail if you're comfortable setting up mail yourself and price matters more than team features.

4. Zoho Mail: the cheapest per-user suite, with its own MCP

Zoho Mail prices per user. Mail Lite is $1 a user a month with 5 GB (or $1.25 with 10 GB), billed yearly only, and Mail Premium is $4. Workplace Standard ($3 yearly, $4 monthly) and Professional ($6 yearly, $7 monthly) add Zoho's office apps. The Forever Free plan hosts one domain for up to 5 users, without IMAP, POP or ActiveSync. Every plan has shared calendars, Zoho's pricing table lists a migration tool, and Zoho's admin console lets you add multiple domains under one organization. There's a 15-day trial of Mail Premium.

Zoho also has an MCP: Zoho MCP lists Zoho Mail among the apps it connects, and Zoho says it works with Claude, GPT and other agents.

Choose Zoho Mail if you want a low per-user price with calendar and migration included, and your client teams stay small.

5. Google Workspace: per user, with the whole Google suite

Google Workspace prices per user: Business Starter $7, Standard $14 and Plus $22 a user a month with a one-year commitment, up to 300 users, with a 14-day trial. Starter includes 30 GB of pooled storage per person. One account can hold up to 600 domains. You also get Calendar, Meet, Drive and Docs, and Gemini in Gmail.

Choose Google Workspace if the client also wants Google's office apps and meetings, and paying per person is acceptable.

6. Microsoft 365: per user, with Outlook and Teams

Microsoft 365 Business Basic is $7.00 a user a month paid yearly, with web and mobile Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint, Teams, a 100 GB mailbox and 1 TB of cloud storage per user. Business Standard ($23.50) adds the desktop apps; Business Premium ($32.00) adds a 1.5 TB archive. Plans cover 1 to 300 users, and Microsoft's domains FAQ says you can typically add up to 5,000 domains to a subscription. There's a one-month free trial that needs a card.

Choose Microsoft 365 if the client lives in Outlook and Office.

7. Fastmail: per user, custom domains from Standard

Fastmail's business plans are Basic $3, Standard $5 and Professional $9 a user a month on yearly billing ($4, $6 and $10 monthly), with a 30-day trial. Custom domains aren't supported on Basic; from Standard, everyone on the plan can create addresses on the domains you share with them. Storage is 6 GB, 60 GB or 150 GB per user.

Choose Fastmail if you want an independent per-user provider with a long trial.

8. Proton Mail for Business: privacy first, with a domain cap

Proton prices per user on yearly billing: Mail Essentials $6.99 (15 GB, 3 custom domains, 10 addresses per user), Workspace Standard $12.99 (1 TB, 15 domains, 20 addresses) and Workspace Premium $19.99 (3 TB, 20 domains). There's a 14-day trial and a 30-day money-back guarantee. The domain cap is the thing to check if you're adding clients over time.

Choose Proton if privacy is the client's first requirement and the domain count stays within the plan.

How to choose

  • Several people and shared inboxes on each client domain: per-domain pricing (LotsMail) keeps the bill tied to domains, not headcount.
  • Lowest possible price, mail apps today: Purelymail or Migadu.
  • The client wants an office suite: Google Workspace or Microsoft 365, paid per person.
  • Small client teams on a tight budget, with calendar: Zoho Mail.
  • You want ChatGPT or Claude in the inbox: LotsMail, with read, draft or send set per mailbox, or Zoho Mail through Zoho MCP.

FAQ

Can I host email for multiple domains in one account?

Yes, with every provider here. LotsMail plans cover 1, 5 or 20 domains, and extra domains cost your plan's rate. Migadu and Purelymail put any number of domains on one flat account. Google Workspace allows up to 600 domains per account, Microsoft 365 typically up to 5,000, and Proton 3, 15 or 20 depending on the plan.

What is the cheapest email hosting for multiple domains?

On my 19 October 2026 check, Purelymail at $10 a year and Migadu Micro at $19 a year, both flat per account. Among per-user providers, Zoho Mail Lite at $1 a user a month (billed yearly) is the lowest. LotsMail is $5 a month per domain with unlimited mailboxes: less than Google Workspace Business Starter or Microsoft 365 Business Basic for a single person, and the gap grows with every person you add.

Does Google Workspace charge per domain or per user?

Per user. Business Starter is $7 a user a month with a one-year commitment, and Google's pricing page lists prices per user only, so the bill grows with every person you add on any of your domains. One account can hold up to 600 domains.

Can my clients use Outlook or Apple Mail with LotsMail?

Not yet. Mail apps over IMAP and SMTP are coming soon. Today LotsMail works in the browser on any phone, tablet or computer, and through ChatGPT, Claude or any MCP client. Importing old mail is planned, with no date, and LotsMail has no calendar.

Can ChatGPT or Claude read my clients' mail?

Only the mailboxes you allow, at the level you choose: read, draft or send, set per mailbox in LotsMail. Sending by agents is off until you turn it on, so drafts wait for your approval. Zoho Mail also connects to MCP clients through Zoho MCP.

Is LotsMail a replacement for Google Workspace?

No. LotsMail is business email: mailboxes, shared inboxes and a full web inbox on your own domain, priced per domain. It doesn't include office apps or meetings, and mail apps are coming soon while import is planned and there is no calendar. If a client needs the suite, Google Workspace or Microsoft 365 is the better fit for that client.
