LotsMail vs Namecheap Private Email

LotsMail vs Namecheap Private Email

LotsMail charges per domain, Namecheap Private Email charges per mailbox. On LotsMail, one domain costs $5 a month or $50 a year with unlimited mailboxes and teammates, so a team of 3 or 30 pays the same. On Namecheap, each plan includes 1, 3 or 5 mailboxes and every extra mailbox is billed again.

If you run a business and want a professional address for everyone who works with you, that difference is the whole comparison. Here is how the two stack up, with every Namecheap number taken from their own page on the day I checked.

Where LotsMail wins: one price for the whole domain

Per-mailbox pricing is fine when you need one address. It gets expensive the moment a business adds people: the owner, a partner, a bookkeeper, plus role addresses like hello@ and billing@. On LotsMail you add all of them to the same domain and the bill does not move. LotsMail pricing is the same on every plan: unlimited mailboxes and teammates per domain, 10 GB of storage and 1,000 sent emails a month per domain, the full web inbox, and an MCP server and REST API.

Here is what the same domain costs on Namecheap, using the plan prices and extra-mailbox prices from their table (yearly billing). I show the lowest-priced Namecheap route for each team size, which is Launch plus extra mailboxes at 5 GB each, and the Scale route with 15 GB per mailbox.

Checked on 2 November 2026. Namecheap figures are my arithmetic from their listed plan and extra-mailbox prices: Launch $14.88 plus $8.88 per extra mailbox; Scale $71.88 with 5 mailboxes plus $39.88 per extra mailbox.

Namecheap also states what happens after the first term. Their page says Launch renews at $14.88 a year, Expand at $41.88 and Scale at $71.88, and that every plan starts with a 30-day free trial that converts to an annual plan. Checked on 2 November 2026.

Who this fits

Business owners. If you have a free address today and want you@yourbusiness.com for yourself and the people around you, LotsMail gives all of them an address on your domain for $5 a month. You keep your DNS provider and your website, add the records LotsMail shows, and point mail when you are ready.

Founders and growing teams. Put everyone and every role address on the company domain without counting seats. Many teams already work in ChatGPT or Claude, and LotsMail has an MCP server (see below) so your assistant can work in the inbox you already pay for.

Agencies. One account can hold a domain per client. Each client domain is its own unit at your plan's rate, mailboxes stay unlimited, and shared inboxes like support@ and projects@ get access per mailbox so nobody shares a password. The Business plan covers 20 domains with white-label on every domain, which means the domain's MX and DNS records point at LotsMail. For a wider look, read Business Email for Agencies: One Account, a Domain per Client.

Your assistant in the inbox

LotsMail works with the AI agent you already use. Connect ChatGPT, Claude or any MCP client and it can read threads, search, sort messages and write drafts. For each mailbox you choose read, draft or send access, and sending by an agent is off until you turn it on. Drafts wait for you in the dashboard. Domains, DNS, team, billing and agent permissions are managed in the dashboard. Setup is on lotsmail.to/mcp. Namecheap has its own AI email assistant that drafts messages from short notes inside Private Email.

What Namecheap does well

Namecheap Private Email includes a built-in calendar, CalDAV and CardDAV sync, IMAP, SMTP and POP3 for desktop and phone mail apps, auto-reply, a catch-all address, and 24/7 support. Plans carry per-mailbox storage of 5, 10 or 15 GB, and a 30-day free trial. If you need Outlook or Apple Mail today, or a calendar in the same tool, Namecheap has them. LotsMail has no calendar, and mail apps over IMAP and SMTP are coming soon, so today you use the web inbox.

If you want to move from Namecheap

  1. Keep your domain where it is. You do not need to transfer it.
  2. Add your domain in LotsMail and add the DNS records it shows.
  3. Import your existing mail with IMAP and an app password. Namecheap lists application passwords as a feature on its plans, and LotsMail imports from any IMAP host.
  4. Create the mailboxes and shared inboxes your team needs, and invite teammates by email.
  5. Point your MX records at LotsMail when you are ready.

Microsoft 365 and Outlook.com import are planned, no date. New accounts get free credits when they sign up, no card.

If you stop paying

If a domain's plan lapses, sending stops at once. Receiving continues for 14 days and then pauses. Stored mail is never deleted. For the details, see Is LotsMail Safe?.
